Ravensthorpe Power Station
PROJECT: Fit-out for a 2MW power station for Western Power, including four Cummins QSX15 C500 generators and purpose-built Cubic switchboard to supply to the town Ravensthorpe. Click here for more information on PPS generators.
The Power Station is remotely monitored and controlled using a SCADA system by Survalent Technology.
PPS implemented the SCADA system which allows operators to remotely view real time data and control the Power Station.
Data from power meters, protection relays, generator controllers and temperature sensors are also continuously logged, which allows the operator to trend and compare data to improve the Power Station performance and reliability.
Alarms are sent to operators via SMS and email alerts on their mobile phone. The operator can then use their mobile phone to log into the SCADA system, to monitor and control the Power Station.
The Power Station is also monitored by CCTV cameras, thus improving the security. Operators can view live video stream from remote computers and mobile phone, and video is recorded by a digital video recorder.
